Stessman began her career as a nurse in 1985 and transitioned into senior management within the health care industry in the 1990s. As CEO of a government contracting company focused on Medicare and Medicaid programs she grew company from two employees to more than 150 employees and $24 million in revenues.
In 2005, Stessman established Strategic as a partner in the fight against fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. She employed a handful of people when she launched the company out of her home. Today, Strategic employs nearly 300 people in multiple locations across the country with $44 million in revenue. Strategic has recently received recognition from numerous organizations including the Inc. 5000 and Impact 50 award, Washington Technology Fast 50 award, and Smart CEO Gov. Star award.
